The lifeblood of our work here at Dismantle is the humble bike - in all shapes and sizes.
Primary use is through our BikeRescue and BikeTherapy development programs with at-risk young people. Through these programs we go through hundreds of bikes per year, with most programs generating 15 restored bikes, 5 for charity and 10 for the participants which they earn to keep by the end of their program.
Mountain bikes and BMX bikes are the most popular, but we are seeing an increased interest in road bikes for those who want to hit the bike paths and ramp up their fitness by pumping out some long smooth rides.
In addition to youth and adult bikes, we also have strong demand for children bikes. Within programs, we may have participants who want to restore bikes for younger sisters or brothers. For community needs, we restore kids bikes (as well as youth and adult bikes) as donations to families in need, or for our Christmas Bike Drive (CBD), a bulk distribution of restored bikes as Christmas gifts for charities who are supporting disadvantaged community members.
If you have any bikes which meet our needs and you would like to donate them to a good cause, we'd love to hear to from you. Please contact us through the email link below.
Thanks in advance!
