Kennards Driver Support Program

Volunteer to drive change for the young people who need it most

Dismantle works to empower disadvantaged young people through employment, so they can get their foot in the door to the workforce inspite of the many barriers they face. One such barrier is having an adult in their lives who is willing or able to help them get their log-book hours - a must-have at most job interviews.

Right now, 70% of our youth employees do not have access to a vehicle or a supervising adult to help them get their log-book hours. As a result, many of these amazing young people who are more than ready for their next career step, get turned away for not having their driver’s license.

Help us drive change: If you have been driving for more than 5 years and could volunteer an hour a week to help a young person unlock this major milestone, please register your interest below.

How it Works

What you do

  • Volunteer as a supervising driver for 1 hour a week, 2 sessions on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday. 3PM-4PM

  • You will be matched with a young ReNew employee and use a ReNew vehicle (fully insured).

  • You will stick with the same learner for the first few sessions to build trust and momentum. You’re welcome to continue for as long or as little as you’re able to.

  • A safety induction session will be run by the McGovern Foundation to kick things off.

  • Sessions are structured, safe, and supported.

What you can expect

  • A clear session plan and support on the day

  • Consistent scheduling (same day/time every week)

  • A program coordinator who is your point of contact.
