What We’ve Been Up To…
RAC and Dismantle strengthen partnership to support young people across WA
Dismantle is proud to formalise a long-standing partnership with RAC, elevating more than a decade of volunteering into an expanded community collaboration. Through BikeRescue and other programs, RAC volunteers have contributed thousands of hours preparing bikes, improving workshop spaces and supporting young people facing barriers to education and employment.
With this strengthened partnership, RAC will provide a mix of funding, skilled and team volunteering to enhance Dismantle’s workshops, systems and operations, helping create safe, welcoming environments where young people can build skills, confidence and real pathways forward.
National recognition for prevention through purpose
Dismantle and its social enterprise ReNew Property Maintenance have been nationally recognised at the 2025 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards (ACVPA) for their impact helping young people overcome barriers to employment and independence.
The award celebrates Dismantle’s holistic model, from early engagement through BikeRescue, to real employment and mentoring through ReNew and JobReadii, proving that prevention happens when young people are given purpose, structure and support.
Another huge year at Cape2Cape, thank you to everyone who rode, raffled or repped Dismantle’s Charity Socks at this years event. Cape2Cape continues to play an important role in supporting Dismantle’s programs, with funds raised through the event contributing to BikeRescue, youth employment through ReNew Property Maintenance, and wraparound support for disadvantaged young people across Western Australia.
Lotterywest Grant Strengthens Dismantle’s Capacity to Support WA Youth
A $300,000 Lotterywest grant has strengthened Dismantle’s systems and infrastructure, enabling the organisation to better support disadvantaged young people across Western Australia. The investment has upgraded IT, improved operational efficiency and established a long-term impact measurement framework to support sustainable growth and stronger outcomes for young people.
Lachie’s journey with ReNew is a powerful example of growth and possibility, from first job and new skills to confidence, leadership and full-time employment. Watch Lachy’s story.
Young people experiencing complex barriers to employment often face the most hurdles to finding and keeping a job. But a recent milestone from Dismantle’s JobReadii program shows just how powerful sustained, targeted support can be in helping them build brighter futures.
We’re proud to see ReNew Property Maintenance recognised as a finalist in the WA Social Enterprise Council’s 2025 Social Enterprise of the Year award. Since launching in 2019, ReNew has created over 130 jobs for at-risk young people, paid more than $1.5 million in wages, and achieved a 73% transition rate into further employment, training, or education.
This nomination celebrates the power of social enterprise, and the young people, partners, and clients who make our impact possible.
Since 2019, ReNew has supported more than 100 young people into employment, many in their first-ever job. Through hands-on work, training and support, youth employees are building skills, confidence and pathways into further education, training and long-term employment, while earning more than $1 million in wages through ReNew’s trade-based services.
More than 60 refurbished bikes are now cruising around regional WA communities following a series of BikeRescue programs delivered across the state. Funded by partners including Kennards Hire, APA, dōTERRA and Connellan Airways, the programs achieved over 90 percent attendance and graduation, equipping young people with practical skills, confidence and stronger connections to their communities.
